What they share
Both apps use the envelope method: money is split into envelopes for each kind of spending, and you spend from the envelope rather than from one big balance. Both lean on entering spends yourself, which is a feature: it's how the method keeps you aware of every dollar.
Where Stuffed is different
- Payday is the main event. One tap tops every envelope, goal and debt up to its plan, the way you'd stuff cash envelopes on payday.
- No account at all. No sign up, no email, no password. Your budget is on your iPhone and in its backup.
- Built for fortnightly pay. Made in Australia, where fortnightly pay is normal, so plans read in your pay cycle, whether that's weekly, fortnightly, monthly or irregular.
Where Goodbudget is the better pick
- Sharing. Couples can keep the same envelopes in sync on several phones. Stuffed can't yet.
- Android and the web. Stuffed is for iPhone only today.
